The cat dragged in this wonderful little Fender ‘600 amp’ from 1952. 🍀 That’s PRE-Tweed era! Super cool little amp with it’s 6SJ7 metal preamp tube and the early 5C1 circuit. 📺 Check out the cool details on the cabinet such as the little button that holds the baffle, and the vinyl & fabric that’s on it. 👌 It may have seen a little moisture somewhere in the past, but this thing is 72 years old…🕰️ …and…it’s still running on it’s original Astron filter capacitors, which are leaking and expired. Hell, perhaps everything is expired in this…⌛️😉 It still works sounds beautiful though! Tired, but warm, dynamic and balanced. Old RCA 6sj7 and 5y3, and a vintage Tung-Sol 6v6 🙏 I would describe the 5C1 Champ circuit as somewhat dark, loose and easy-going. Less aggressive as a 5F1 Champ. The breakup happens at a lower frequency point, and it takes a pedal very well, even Fuzz ones. The 6 inch speaker doesn’t sound harsh at all. A fine little bluesrig for a show with @jacobsonkj A fine little bluesrig for a show with @jacobsonkjell’s Bluesmonks! 🥳🎸 Music from Bonnie Rait, Robben Ford, Fleetwood Mac, JJ Cale and a few cool etc’s, together with a fine set of gentlemen. That’s going to be a lot of fun, for sure! Also a great opportunity to enjoy a unique pedal from Mr. @z.xobanka’s from Hungary. It’s a very well build fantastic sounding rendition of the 1960s Vox Tonebender MKII, a Fuzz with really cool harmonics and overtones from the upper octave🪄 He build this pedal for me, which is a great honor to begin with. Plants, I guess. 🍀 Effective, solid and a ‘minimal’ amount of gear, viby wooden interior, and good controlled acoustics is what comes to mind as well. 😌 Every now a good revamp of creative space gives new inspiration. 🗓️ So a few weeks ago I went ahead and basically stuffed the side walls of this room with rockwool under white fabric over wooden posts. 🛠️ Small wooden trims then create top to bottom acoustic panels, with a nice look. Results? Layering some southern sunny acoustics for a clien Layering some southern sunny acoustics for a client with this sweetheart. It’s a Yamaha FG-340 from the late 70s. Been in the family for quite a while, and will give it a proper service soon! Still tracks fine as it is. 👌 Viola isn’t complaining either 🐱 Love working in this humble creative space. Don’t need anything else, except for a lot of other fancy gear, 🤣 but this setup just works, works quick and nicely. A fix on @jacobsonkjell’s Rivera 55/12 amp. Luck A fix on @jacobsonkjell’s Rivera 55/12 amp. Luckily we can say easy fix, as it came in with a burnt smell and was left smoking. Suspected transformer, luckily just a coupling cap in the phase inverter circuit, so nö sound when it goes. Weird, but perhaps too conservative of a voltage rating..🤔 Cleaned surrounding connections. We’ll let the filter caps pass for now. #amprepair #riveraamps #techstuff #happysoldering
